Sablefish, also known as black cod or butterfish, is one of the finest delicacies the North Pacific has to offer. Known for it’s intensely rich, satiny, buttery flavour the meat has a smooth velvety texture with large delicate flakes. Wild Sablefish are a deep-sea fish and can live up to 1,500 meters (5,000 ft) below the surface. High in healthy Omega 3 fats, Organic Ocean Wild Sablefish are sustainably caught in BC by long-line or traps.
Organic Ocean Sablefish portions are extremely versatile. Due to their high fat content they are a very forgiving fish in the kitchen making them a perfect choice for the novice chef who wishes to prepare something luxurious. Wild sablefish portions can be prepared on the grill, baked, pan roasted or poached.
