Macro Kelp (also known as giant kelp) create dense kelp forests along the Pacific Coast that sustain a great variety of fish and invertebrates. They are the largest of all seaweed and can grow as much as 60 cm (2 ft) per day reaching lengths of upto 45 m (150 ft). Our wild Macro Kelp are found in the clean, cold waters off Vancouver Island where a portion of the frond (leaf) are selectively hand picked, ensuring the kelp remain alive and continue to positively contribute to our ecosystem. Warm air dried, Macro Kelp are rich in iodine, potassium, other beneficial minerals, vitamins and carbohydrates.
