Golden King Crab are one of three species of king crab (Red King Crab and Blue King Crab are the other two) commercially harvested in Alaska and get their name from the orange to golden hue of their shells. Golden King Crab is the smallest of the three crabs but is said to be slightly milder and sweeter in flavor compared to the other two. Caught around the Aleutian Islands, Organic Ocean Golden King Crab is sustainably harvested using pots or traps.
Organic Ocean Golden King Crab are cooked and then brine frozen, fresh off the boat. Then the legs are removed from the body and the pointy end of the crab leg is removed. This produces a select portion. The select portions are then split down the length of the leg, exposing the meat and allowing for easy preparation and meat extraction. Since the crab is already pre-cooked, simply thaw on a tray overnight for best results, then heat and serve. Basting with garlic and butter creates a simple but luxurious dining experience that’s sure to please even the most discerning guests. Love Crab? Easy to use. Many thanks from Bob Bannerman.
For a special pre-dinner treat we had a crab leg and an Atlantic lobster split. We grilled the lobster with garlic/lemon butter (as described at thermoworks.com). We removed the crab meat from the leg, which was super easy to do, and placed it in foil on the top shelf of the grill away from the direct heat. Served both with some garlic butter, washed down with a glass of Prosecco. We thought that we had died and gone to heaven!
These were so delicious, really made for a great birthday dinner! Best price point I could find, shipping was superb and the quality was top notch. We will definitely order again, cannot wait!
So very yummy, fresh, sweet and tasted like the sea. Highly recommend :)
