These premium Sockeye Salmon were individually harvested in the Strait of Georgia at the mouth of the mighty Fraser River. The Fraser River is the longest river in British Columbia and the sockeye destined to the Fraser are revered for their high healthy fat content and amazing rich flavour. These beautiful fish were troll caught which means the fish were selectively harvested using individual hook and lines rather than nets. This really is the holy grail of Canadian Sockeye Salmon. These fish have historically been caught and sold to the export market that appreciate the best of the best, but now, you too can gain access to this highly coveted sockeye.
Rarely do I share reviews but today is an exception. From reading others expressions, I purchased the sockeye salmon filets hoping they would be as good as the claims made. Happy to say, it is even better than expected... just melt in your mouth goodness and it was so tender. My mom has always said she does not like salmon because of the fishy smell, taste and oiliness. When I opened the package, she said it smelled like the sea and not fishy. With a bit of coaxing to try it, I baked it simply with a variety of fresh herbs, salt, pepper and drizzle of olive oil. She tried it and said she has never tasted anything like this! It was exquisite, so flaky!!! I have found my goto for seafood. Thanks so much! Jacqueline
Jacqueline, thank you for making an exception, we're overjoyed with your wonderful feedback. Glad you and your mum enjoyed it as much as we do!
I purchased the troll caught sockeye salmon a month ago and have finally had a chance to share it with my brother who used to be a commercial fisherman in Steveston. He's quite particular since he knows what kind of quality to expect. This did not disappoint. We both enjoyed it immensely and I will continue to order more.
I purchased your troll caught sockeye salmon filets a month ago and have finally had a chance to enjoy some with my brother who used to be a commercial fisherman. He is quite fussy when it comes to sockeye salmon since he's somewhat of an expert on quality. We both agreed it was fabulous. I will continue to order more.
