- Our Story
Dungeness Crab - or dungy for short - are found off the west coast of North America from the Aleutian Islands in Alaska all the way down to California. Organic Ocean Dungeness Crab are sustainable caught using small boats with 2 - 4 crew members and crab pots. The fishery is highly regulated and only male dungeness crab are allowed to be harvested and they must measure 6.5 inches or 165 mm across their shell (carapace). Depending on the season, our Dungeness Crab are either caught in Alaska or off the coast of Washington/Oregon. Dungeness Crab has a sweet, mild and slightly nutty flavour and is less briny than most other crab meat.
How do you prepare Dungeness Crab Legs
Organic Ocean Dungeness Crab are cooked and then brine frozen, fresh off the boat. Using a special process the legs are removed from the body and are individually scored to make it super easy to "snap and eat!" Since the crab is already pre-cooked, simply thaw on a tray overnight for best results, then heat and serve. A squeeze of lemon or a slather of melted garlic butter is all that is needed to enjoy this mouth watering experience. Want something even more luxurious?
